The former UFC bantamweight champ is catching some serious love from rap legends, and he is hoping it is a good omen.
Sean O’Malley was name-dropped twice in the past month, first by Lil Wayne on “Rari” off “Tha Carter VI” (“Shirt off, guns showin’ like O’Malley”) and most recently by Eminem on “Animals (Pt. 1)” with JID, where Em raps:
Had to throw in that towel, regroup, like Sean O’Malley, still that mouthy youth.
O’Malley posted his reaction online, visibly hyped. He recalled how he once walked out to “Drop the World”, a collab between the same two artists, for his first kickboxing match.
“Random”, he said. “It’s a sign. It’s a sign I’m going to beat Merab”.

The 29-year-old fighter may have been half-joking, especially since his UFC record against Merab Dvalishvili currently stands at 0-2. Dvalishvili claimed the title at UFC 306 and then submitted O’Malley in their rematch at UFC 316. So no, Suga did not quite manage to “regroup” like Em.
But still, being name-dropped by two GOATs in one summer got to count for something. And the fact that it is coming from the same two artists who soundtracked his first walkout makes it a full-circle moment.
