Artists become eligible for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first record release. As of today, a nominating committee can put Eminem on an entry list.
Em released his debut album, “Infinite”, 25 years ago, on November 12, 1996. It means that now he is technically eligible for entry. On top of the longevity, the committee pays attention to such criteria as the influence and significance of the artists’ contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll. Luckily, rock and roll as a concept is now much broader than a specific genre, and the list of recent nominees, such as LL Cool J, Jay Z and Carole King, demonstrate that.
