“Houdini”, Eminem’s latest banger, explodes onto the Billboard Hot 100, grabbing the No. 2 spot. While it narrowly misses the top crown, this marks Eminem’s 23rd solo Top 10 hit and his 6th time reaching the Top 5.
This is not the first time Em’s brushed shoulders with chart glory. He’s already secured five No. 1 hits throughout his legendary career, and “Houdini” almost made it six. “Houdini” joins the ranks of “Without Me” and “Smack That” (with Akon) – both previous Em tracks that fell just one spot shy of chart domination.
There’s still a chance it could climb to the peak in the coming weeks, but these days, competition is fierce, and new tracks often have their biggest shot right out of the gate. However, we know that the single is far ahead of any possible competition in all metrics but one: radio plays. So this still can be rectified, and there is no stopping “Houdini” then.
“The Death of Slim Shady” era is off to a fire start, and with “Houdini” making these kind of waves, it’s clear Eminem still has the magic touch.
