With no line up announced, tickets to the Astroworld festival were sold out in minutes. Media speculate about possible participants and put Eminem’s name on the list. How close to reality is it?

The Forbes magazine, which is considered as a rather reliable source of information, posted this:

Artists who could perform at the event include Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and Eminem, among others, with Scott serving as the headliner.

However, this is second-hand info and Forbes names the Houston Chronicle as their source.
Maybe this local Houston media had more information about the event scheduled for November 5 to November 6 at Houston’s NRG Park? Let’s find out what exactly the Houston Chronicle reported on the line-up.

Apparently, local journalists had just as much intel as everybody else. Namely, none. Here is what was published:

As in past years, performers likely won’t be named until just before the gates open. […] So who’s showing up this year? Here are a few guesses. And wishes.

And then there was a list with Eminem’s name on it among others. No explanations, no hints on any grounds to make a guess. Just wishful thinking.

That’s right. Eminem is on the list because somebody wanted him to perform at the Astroworld.

Ain’t we all, though. Still, wishful thinking is not exactly a reliable ground for making statements like “Eminem is to perform at the Astroworld”. Nobody knows, so do not set yourself up for disappointment.
