Eminem has fans buzzing with speculation after sharing a nostalgic post on his social media, possibly hinting at the next single from his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady”.
The post featured a picture of his daughter, Hailie, taken on the iconic “The Eminem Show” stage, handcrafted by Hailie into a greeting card to her dad. The post was captioned with a quote from the song, “It won’t be too long…”, along with a tag reading “Temporary”.

Naturally, fans jumped on the clue, interpreting it as a subtle announcement that “Temporary” could be the next single from the album. If the speculation is correct, “Temporary” would join the ranks of the previous singles: the crowd pleaser “Houdini”, the tribute to the Detroit hip hop “Tobey”, and the emotional “Somebody Save Me”.
“Temporary” seems to follow the same deeply personal path as Eminem’s latest release, particularly focusing on themes close to his heart. Being a heartfelt letter to his daughter Hailie, the song reflects on their relationship, the passage of time, and mortality, much like his previous single “Somebody Save Me”, which addressed fatherhood, fame, and personal struggles.
Eminem has been known to prioritise sending a meaningful message through his music, often above commercial success. Take his previous album, “Music to Be Murdered By”, for example. The first single, “Darkness”, had a powerful message about mental health and gun violence, even though nobody expected it to be a chart-topper. Later, he balanced the album’s impact with the release of “Godzilla”, which skyrocketed up the charts.
If “Temporary” does drop next, it is clear that Eminem continues to focus on what is most important to him — family, legacy, and storytelling, — over commercial success.
