Eminem has just released the music video for “Somebody Save Me”, the third single from his album “The Death of Slim Shady”, featuring Jelly Roll.
In his soulful song, Marshall returns to his bitter regrets about the failed fatherhood, apologizing to his daughter Halie and his nephews that he missed too many important things in their childhood and youth due to his drug and alcohol addiction. Marshall also has a separate internal dialogue with his other side/Shady, where he curses his former self for his mistakes and indifference to his children and family.
A particularly touching atmosphere of the track is created by Jelly Roll’s melodic vocals in the confessional refrain about the hell inside every person you need to escape from, but sometimes you don’t have enough strength.
The video clip is a cut of documentary footage from the childhood and youth of Halie and Alaina – and on the other side there’s Marshall, unsuccessfully trying to reach the girls through the thick glass and forced to simply contemplate their lives, suffering from his own regrets and remorse.
