Royce’s beef with Lupe Fiasco takes a new, unexpected turn. Now Royce expects his friends to join the ranks.
Recently he spends a lot of time talking over Instagram LiveStream to people and recording videos for his followers. One of these conversations revealed that apparently, Nickle assumed that Eminem. Joyner Lucas and his friends from Slaughterhouse would join him in going against Lupe Fiasco. Since Mickey Factz dropped his own diss, Royce feels like he is being jumped on by Lupe’s gang and wants to see more support from his circle:
Speaking of Crook and Joell, what are they doing? Sitting around, watching me get jumped on? Where is the order in here? Do you know what I would be doing if somebody ever pulled this on one of my loved ones? I would have been rapped. I’m disappointed in Crooked, I’m disappointed in Joell, I’m disappointed in King Los, I’m disappointed in Grafh, I’m disappointed in Joyner Lucas, I’m disappointed in Marshall… Nah, I ain’t disappointed in Marshall. I could name a couple of more people. But those people right there that I just named are very close loved ones. Never should you sit back and watch me. It is not about them wondering if I can handle myself in rapping. It is the fact that you are looking at me, and you are looking at two other individuals gang up on me on some lyrical shit, and you just sitting there watching.
Interestingly, Royce cut himself when he started expressing disappointment in Eminem. He just does not think that Eminem is even aware of what is going down with Royce:
I do not think it made its way to the fucking Android Metro phone. I don’t think it’s that fucking big. That shit got to reach some new levels in order for him to hear it on the Batphone.
Well, when Nick Cannon was firing shots at Eminem, Royce did not want Em to get distracted and wanted him to focus on “cool contributions” instead. Royce has spent recent years appealing to people to squash all beefs and resolve their problems by talking to each other. It looks like he made a U-turn as soon as somebody got under his skin.
Up to this moment, it was possible to interpret Royce’s altercation with Lupe Fiasco as a ploy to encourage competition and fighting spirit in hip hop. Even his track addressed to Lupe, “Silence Of The Lambda”, maintained a high level of conversation and avoided indications of wounded pride, it was stripped of personal insults and had all traits of longevity outside of this discourse. Fans saw it as a class and a sign that Royce can easily handle a situation like this without calling in the cavalry.
And it is not true that his friends from Slaughterhouse did not think about coming to help him. But the story is always more complicated than one person can see.
When one of the fans urged KXNG Crooked to get all Slaughterhouse to help Royce, his response was more about Slaughterhouse and how they have never responded to his attempts to get them all back together. Crook sounded resigned in his tweet:
I would feel like I got slapped in the face if Lu and Mick had the power to reunite Slaughterhouse, and I couldn’t after trying all those years ago. Can you imagine that?
Joell Ortiz, though, was quite enthusiastic and encouraged Crook to reconsider:
Guess what tho.. There’s still time to reunite SlaughterHouse. Let’s just all get in the booth bro. It’s that simple. Beats and rhymes and good times. 🙏🏼
And it looked like his words get through to KXNG, who finally seconded this motion:
Agreed. I think this is a good environment for Slaughter
Maybe Royce was too quick to get upset by his friend reluctance to get involved. Perhaps, he should take a page from his own book and communicate directly, not through videoblogger’s live streams.
