I'm the One broke

Difficult to believe but 10 years ago Eminem was promoting his albums and his videos.

“Not Afraid” was a lead single for “Recovery” and a month after its release Eminem announced the upcoming video on his Twitter account. There was a teaser on YouTube and music video TV channels days before a premier, Vevo changed its logo to include Eminem’s inverted E in it. The video was in heavy rotation on MTV and VH1. There were the days.

The video won MTV Best Male Video award and MTV Best Hip-Hop Video in 2010 in the US and then in Japan. With over 1,4 billion views “Not Afraid” is the second most-watched Eminem’s video on YouTube.

The time has passed and while the hype is gone the message of the video is still here and is still important. It is about not being afraid of change, not being afraid of who you are. This is what Marshall referred to when celebrating 12 years of his sobriety he wrote: “Still not afraid”.
