Released in 2013, Marshall’s eighth album is now his fourth studio project to earn this milestone.
Inspired by Beastie Boys and LL Cool J, MMLP2 had strong references to its predecessor, “The Marshall Mathers LP”, but demonstrated a combination of some arena rock sound and more economic production.
The album debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart and had a strong commercial performance, selling more than 792,000 copies in its first week. MMLP2 also earned Marshall his sixth Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
