Fred Durst addresses hate hurled at Limp Bizkit and negative comparison to Eminem on a song from the group’s new album “Still Sucks”.
The lyrics for this song are built as a conversation between two haters who discuss their disdain for Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst personally. At some point, they compareFred’ss rapping abilities to Em’s:
He the worst white rapper that’ll ever be
Sure as fuck ain’t no Eminem
Looks like he’s got Drake’s pubes on his chin
Mind you, Eminem and Fred Durst have a long and complicated relationship that drifted from friendship to tension when Em’s beef with Everlast was in full swing. In 1999, Marshall recorded “Turn Me Loose” for Limp Bizkit’s album, and Durst made a cameo in “The Real Slim Shady” music video. However, later Em dissed Fred for siding with Everlast and famously left Durst hanging on purpose when the Limp Bizkit singer tried to give him a high five at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Years later, however, Fred Durst stated that despite everything, he loves Em and his talent and still doesn’t understand what happened back then.
So, while some people look for any opportunity to downplaMarshall’s’s legacy, others use his reputation to slander other talented musicians. Even if it does not make any sense, haters gonna hate, and Fred Durst has a good laugh showing how pointless and self-destructive their stance is.
