Blast from the past – the controversy about Kanye’s “Famous” apparently, and allegedly, has links to Eminem.

Just a short reminder what it is all about: in 2016 Kanye released “The Life of Pablo” with the bar:

For all my Southside niggas that know me best
I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex
Why? I made that bitch famous (Goddamn)
I made that bitch famous

Some somehow saw it as a good sign of squashing a long beef between Kanye and Taylor, others were appalled. Kanye defended his line claiming that “bitch” is an endearing term and that he consulted with Taylor prior to releasing the song. Their phone conversation, heavily edited, was made public later, however, Taylor denies ever giving Kanye permission to denigrate her.

And today the unedited version of Kanye’s 2016 phone call with Taylor Swift was leaked. She was right, he did not show her a bit with a “bitch” and she specifically requested not to use this word.

Okay, what does it have to do with us, you ask? And that is the only funny bit of the story. Kanye, while disclosing part of his bar, warned Taylor: “It’s gonna go Eminem for a little bit so can you brace yourself?”

No, Kanye, no. This was not Eminem in any sense of the word – neither lyrically, nor controversially. Does Eminem call those who he disses, asks their permission and lying? Nope. If you want to diss someone – go all way out. Do not play publicity tricks while betraying a person you call a friend.
