One of the biggest events in the recently rebooted X-Men universe is to feature real-life celebrities, from Eminem to Conan O’Brien.
Hellfire Gala is meant to be a celebration, a statement and the introduction of a new X-Men team. It is simultaneously a party of epic proportions and 12 issues of Marvel’s current X-Men line, each telling a different story and all taking place on the same night.
Recently, Marvel announced the line up of artists, athletes and TV personalities that will make their way from our world to comic pages.
“The Hellfire Gala will be the culmination of months of anticipation, and as one of the biggest nights in X-Men history, it only made sense that the nation of Krakoa would invite some of the world’s biggest stars to witness it for themselves,” said Mike Pasciullo, Vice President, Marketing and Communications at Marvel. “We thank all of our special guests for joining us for this exclusive in-world event, along with the incredible artists who brought them to life on the page.”
So far, Eminem, Conan O’Brien, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Ira Glass, and Pete Alonso are on the guest list.
Considering that our worlds apparently share the same pool of celebrities, this event might be as important for Marvel as it is for Emma Frost.
“Eagle-eyed fans will be able to spot all of our guests within various X-MEN titles at the Hellfire Gala”, states Marvel. It means that collectors will have to buy all 12 Hellfire Gala issues if they want to find all the comic incarnations of real-world stars.
Eminem, however, being a fan of the Marvel universe, might certainly find satisfaction in transition into their world.
