For the second time this year, Genius declares Eminem’s lyrics the verse of the month.

The previous one was in August, for Em’s feature on “Realest”, the Shady Records debut single of the newest label signee.

Now, it is Em’s verse on Juice WRLD’s posthumous single “Lace It”. Many agreed that Marshall’s bars on this joint were incredibly deep and moving, especially considering Eminem’s own near-death experience and Juice’s tragic death facilitated by drug use. Em has sent a strong and beautifully worded message for the whole generation of younger rappers, and one has to be dead to deny its power.

Also, “Lace It” is the highest charting non-Christmas song on the Genius ranking this week. It says a lot about the attention it has managed to draw.
