New photos from Dr. Dre studio show him and Kanye working on the upcoming “Jesus Is King 2”.
While some people with good memory sarcastically remind Kanye that he renounced hip hop as “devil’s music”, others also remember the line from “Forgot About Dre”:
And when your album sales weren’t doin’ too good
Who’s the Doctor they told you to go see?
However, this is clearly not Kanye’s concern, his recent release “Jesus Is King” is doing just fine in charts and he has a long history with Dr. Dre. While they have never formally collaborated together, more than once they worked closely enough. Kanye has always had admiration for Dre’s skills and genius as a producer. In 2010 he wrote an essay for Rolling Stone about Dre where he stated:
Do hip-hop producers hold Dr. Dre in high esteem? It’s like asking a Christian if he believes Christ died for his sins.
I first met Dre in December of 2003. He asked me to produce a track for the Game. At first I was star-struck, but within 30 minutes I was begging him to mix my next album. He’s the definition of a true talent: Dre feels like God placed him here to make music, and no matter what forces are aligned against him, he always ends up on the mountaintop.
Well, it took Kanye 16 years to convince Dre and now his dream came true.
There is a question though, should we expect a cameo from Eminem on this album?
