While Kendrick Lamar and Drake are tied in an epic lyrical showdown, another name has surprisingly surfaced in the drama: Nick Cannon.
This beef is in no way one-sided. With four diss tracks – “Euphoria”, “6:16 In LA”, “Meet the Grahams”, and the latest, the vicious “Not Like Us” – Kendrick is not holding back. Drake is not staying silent, responding to Kendrick’s jab on the No.1 hit from Future & Metro Boomin, “Like That”. The Canadian superstar had taunted Kendrick with two diss tracks (one of which he had to take down because of the controversial and unethical use of AI faking 2Pac’s voice) and then responded to “Euphoria” with a brutal stab of his own. Diss tracks are getting nastier with each new step, the Internet is buzzing, opinions are divided, and “Euphoria” is charting at No.3 on Spotify Global.
Seeing the hype surrounding the Kendrick-Drake feud, Nick Cannon decided to hop on the bandwagon. In a transparent attempt to regain some clout, Cannon commented on Instagram, claiming the title of “Trend Setter” for dropping multiple diss tracks. He references his weak attempts at roasting Eminem years ago.
Cannon’s attempt to insert himself into this situation is laughable. Back then, he threw three diss tracks at Em (“Pray For Me”, “The Invitation”, and “The Invitation Canceled”) that landed with all the impact of a wet napkin. Em responded with a single tweet: “U mad, bro? Stop lying on my dick. I never even had a chauffeur, you bougie fuck”. Case closed.
Cannon’s attempt to insert himself into this beef is utterly transparent. His diss tracks against Eminem were forgettable at best, and his recent comments reek of insecurity. Here is a tip, Nick: maybe focus on your own thing because clinging to old beefs will not ignite your rap career.
