Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five went at Eminem on wax. He has spent enough time slandering Marshall in his interviews, but Em’s recent response to it on Ez Mil’s “Realest” verse really got under Melle Mel’s skin.
Just last Friday, Eminem finally clapped back after years of Melle Mel spitting hatred against him. Marshall shout out his respect to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, recognising their enormous contribution to the culture, but took upon himself to mock Melle Mel, attributing the nonsense he had been spreading to steroids.
Melle Mel took the case seriously, and in the old school tradition decided to respond to a diss with his own diss. He advertised it on his Instagram page and all hip hop fans started waiting with a baited breath.
And now, the track is up on YouTube for all of us to hear. Some say that it is 10 times better than The Game’s “The Black Shady” because it is 10 times shorter. There is a lot to say but there is one thing that deserves respect. Melle Mel keeps the tradition going by picking up the mic and putting himself on the line.
