Interscope Records has announced a new limited release of D12’s Devil’s Night Deluxe Edition. Comes pressed on “Hell Fire” vinyl and limited to only 3,000 copies worldwide.
“If Eminem’s solo work was a lyrical Mike Tyson singlehandedly destroying his opponents, then D12’s Devil’s Night is the ’92 Dream Team: a collective of singular, yet outstanding players who each bring their unique skills and a spiritual sequel to The Slim Shady LP”, the label advertised the press.
Originally released on June 19, 2001, “Devil’s Night” was D12’s first studio album. It debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum within a month. As a result, with hits like “Purple Pills” and “Fight Music”, D12 earned a reputation as one of the most unique and unapologetic collectives of the early 2000s.
Rolling Stone called their debut “sick and wrong on many levels”, yet also praised its brilliance. Beneath the outrageous humour and dark storytelling lay some of the smartest, catchiest hip-hop of the early 2000s.
Eminem and Dr. Dre Bring the Heat Back
Produced primarily by Eminem and Dr. Dre, Devil’s Night remains one of the most inventive group albums in rap history. Nearly every track carried a tight concept, a sticky hook, and a groove built to last. As Rolling Stone noted, the Detroit collective mixed “the mellifluous with the morbid and the smooth with the scatological better than anyone”.
Now, more than two decades later, fans have a chance to own the album in a brand-new format that celebrates its legacy and sound.
Limited “Hell Fire” Vinyl for True Fans
Pressed for the first time on “Hell Fire” vinyl, the Devil’s Night Deluxe Edition includes bonus tracks like “Freestyle”, “Words Are Weapons”, and “Shit on You”. Each release comes with a D12 sticker and is available exclusively through interscope.com.
Collectors, act fast — only 3,000 copies will be available on November 1, and once they are gone, they are gone.
