[Song premiere] Skylar Grey - “Angel With Tatoos”

Skylar Grey has finally released the full version of “Angel with Tattoos”, transforming what began as a 2019 EP into a complete 10-track album.

Back in 2019, Skylar explained that she wanted to challenge the traditional idea of what an album could be. She described Angel with Tattoos as a living project, one she planned to expand over time. New songs had to fit its unique sound and story.

Now, that vision is complete. The original five tracks have doubled, and the result is a lush, personal, and emotionally rich album that bridges the past and present of Skylar’s artistry.

From Concept EP to Full-Length Album

The expanded version includes rare fan favourites like “Sober (You Make Me Wanna Be)” but not only. It also includes new renditions of hits she originally co-wrote for other artists. One of them is “Walk on Water”, famously recorded by Eminem and Beyoncé.

Also, there is “Glorious”, which became a smash hit for Macklemore.

However, this time, fans get “Glorious Pt. II”, Skylar’s own version without Macklemore’s verse. She wrote new lyrics so she could perform it live, and now, those who could not attend her shows can finally hear it in studio quality.

Skylar Grey Reclaims Her Music and Vision

Dave Bassett joins her as co-writer and co-producer, but the rights remain with Grey Songs. After a lengthy legal battle over ownership of her songs, she is now completely independent. Even though the fight was not easy, it gave her something far greater – freedom.

Now, with full creative and legal control, Skylar Grey delivers her very personal work, years in the making. Fans who have followed her journey can finally celebrate not only the music but also her victory in reclaiming her voice.
