Some rappers think that provoking Eminem is the easiest way to get into the limelight and score popularity points. But it also can end their careers.
Snoop Dogg visited the Full Send podcast, where he also talked about Eminem’s work ethic and about rappers who chase clout using Marshall’s name.
First of all, Snoop addressed a host’s remark that “Eminem doesn’t do shit anymore”. Well, some fans certainly feel like it’s time for Em to release a new project, but objectively, his previous album is still charting on the Billboard 200. Yes, it’s been over two years, but Eminem is busy recording features and just bagged a dream gig of any artist – the Super Bowl Halftime show. But Snoop was not there to teach the hosts facts, he just reminded them that Eminem is free to use his time however he pleases:
He do what he have to do. But I think, when you’ve been the biggest rapper in the world for so many years, it’s like, what more can you do? He’s finding his moments now. Finding when he wants to come and when he wants to drop and pop. Because his fanbase ain’t going nowhere.
Then Snoop took his time to comment on rappers who relentlessly go after Eminem. Hosts could only remember MGK as an example and asked this question, probably, because of The Game’s recent attempts to stage beef with Em. However, any Eminem fan can recite a list of at least five rappers who keep swinging at Eminem to draw attention to themselves. The Death Row Records boss understands why they do that:
Because they know he’s sitting in the shell right now. But what they’re gonna do is make him pop that motherfucking shell open. When people take shots at rappers like that, it’s because that rapper is invisible for the moment. But that’s the way to get him back visible when you start poking the bear. He still is who he is. Don’t get it fucked up. You poke the bear with your nail, you get your nail broken.
Do you think Snoop is correct, and rappers just forgot how deadly Marshall’s pen is when he gets into a battle mode?
