We’ve just witnessed the most incredible, huge, historical, dopest hip-hop party of all time! It was the best decision to choose Dr. Dre to do this show.
Dr. Dre promised that this Super Bowl Halftime Show would be the best show ever. That it would change the perception of hip hop and open doors for new generations of artists. He did not lie.
It was expectedly short, but it felt even shorter, rolling in smooth transitions from one track to another. When asked to describe the show, Dr. Dre offered two words: “Fucking incredible”. And there is nothing to add.
Started with Snoop and his Next Episode, then their duo in Still D.R.E. – the greatest moment for old school family! So many years later, they’ve STILL got it! Then, Mary J in the sexiest outfit, Kendrick – so long-awaited, and the “cherry on top” – Eminem.
He performed Lose Yourself, the most classic Marshall song ever.
The stage, the light, the choreography – everything was breathtaking and served one purpose only: to emphasise the immense talent of every artist involved and their impact on the culture.
Then the identity of a mystery guest was revealed. And guess who? Yes, he is! Mister Curtis 50 Cent Jackson in the flesh! And Anderson. Paak himself, working the drum set!
It will take more time to process the significance of what Dr. Dre has done together with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige. Now it is mostly emotions. Because we have just seen a moment that changed history.
