The actor who played the obsessed fan in Eminem’s legendary “Stan” video watched the new documentary Stans, and it clearly hit home.
On his socials, Sawa posted:
Saw “STANS”.
Powerful. Eminem continues to amaze me, as an artist AND a human.
Director Steven Leckart, you killed it.
I may have shed a couple tears.

The actor’s reaction struck a chord with fans who still remember his haunting performance in the 2000 video, where he portrayed a character so fixated on Eminem that it spiralled into tragedy. Sawa is also a fan of Eminem, loud and proud. His emotional response to the doc shows just how deeply the story told in the movie touches a viewer.
As Stans rolls out to broader audiences, some fans have been dreaming of a full-circle moment: Sawa and Eminem reuniting at the film’s New York premiere this week. So far, neither has confirmed plans to attend, but that hasn’t stopped the speculation or the hope for a surprise moment.
While this meeting might be a pipe dream, upcoming screenings in theatres worldwide starting August 7 are a reality. Tickets are available: stansmovie.com.
