Yelawolf Reveals “War Story” Details: Double Album, Diverse Guests, Leaked Cover Art

Yelawolf is gearing up for war! The Alabama rapper has announced the release of his double album, “War Story”, which will drop in May. This ambitious project will pay homage to his roots with “Trunk Muzik 4ever” and showcase a more personal side with “Michael Wayne”.

“War Story” is expected to pack a punch, boasting 24-26 tracks and featuring collaborations with heavy hitters like Killer Mike, DJ Paul, and Jelly Roll. The track list is still under wraps, but Yelawolf offers fans a say in the music video selection. The five singles leading up to the album’s release will be chosen based on which songs resonate most with listeners. This interactive approach echoes Yelawolf’s regret regarding “Catfish Billy” and “Tennessee Love”, tracks he didn’t initially anticipate becoming fan favourites and therefore neglected to create visuals for.

A wrench was thrown into Yelawolf’s plans when the “War Story” cover art leaked online. While confirming its authenticity, the rapper expressed frustration as the reveal was intended to surprise fans. Whether he’ll stick with the leaked artwork or unveil a new one remains to be seen.
