Eminem has overtaken Frank Sinatra to become the third best-selling male solo artist after Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
According to Chartmasters’ estimates, his equivalent album sales that combine album sales, single sales and streams into an album-equivalent estimate have reached 237,289,000, leaving the legendary US crooner behind.
Recently, Drake was declared the most RIAA-certified artist, which also implies he is the best-selling artist in the US. This ranking, however, focuses on global sales. On ChartMasters’ worldwide list, Eminem leads Drake by nearly 30 million equivalent album sales. In fact, Drake ranks as the No. 6 male solo artist and No. 15 music act overall.
Internationally, Eminem is far from giving up his position as the world’s best-selling rapper. If anything, he is only gaining ground. Marshall broke into the top 10 in 2023 by overtaking Led Zeppelin. Three months later, he moved up another spot, passing his friend and AA mentor Elton John. It took him much longer to catch up with Frank Sinatra, but he eventually did. For a rapper to rank third among the world’s best-selling male solo artists is no small feat, and no one deserves it more.
