A conversation about hip-hop between Lil Wayne and Eminem obviously touched the topic of upcoming artists, new names in the game that are worth following.
Lil Wayne mentioned Griselda boys, whom Eminem signed to his label some time ago, and Jessie Reyez, who just put the third joint with Eminem in her catalogue – Marshal immediately noted that he personally thinks that she’s going to be huge. But what other names can Eminem give, who does he listen to? There are always the same names come up when Marshall answers this question. We know it, Marshall knows it, but he has his reasons to mention them every time. And he also has something new to add:
Joyner Lucas, Kendrick and Cole come to mind immediately. Big Sean. RJ Payne – he kind of like had a resurgence lately and I know he’s not a new artist but man, he’s a fucking animal!

Oh, he’s dope. [He’s doing that group called Run the Jewels now with] El-P. They got on tour with us, they did a couple of shows with us and shit. Killer Mike has been doped forever. We got a new artist that we signed a couple of years back, Boogie. He’s really good too, man. YBN Cordae. He’s so young still, I feel like he keeps getting better with every song. Those are the ones to watch for me. I know the world knows who Joyner and Kendrick and Cole are but they’ve stayed so consistent too.
