Even with its early backlash, Eminem’s “Revival” has officially passed 2 billion streams on Spotify, showing that time — and his fans — have a way of changing things.
Eminem’s album “Revival” just crossed 2 billion streams on Spotify, marking his ninth studio album to hit this impressive milestone. Not bad for an album that critics initially roasted. Released in 2017, “Revival” was met with harsh reviews for its rock-heavy production, extensive pop collaborations, and mixed sound quality. But despite the critics’ reactions, “Revival” debuted at number one in five countries and even became the UK’s Christmas number one album of 2017.
Over the years, “Revival” has earned Platinum certifications in seven countries, including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. It may be his least streamed project right now, averaging around 300,000 daily plays, but the album’s 2-billion-stream mark proves it’s still connecting with listeners worldwide. Em’s fanbase, it seems, always has room for even the most controversial tracks in his catalogue.
