A new documentary on LL Cool J revealed that the legendary rapper is working on his new album after years of silence.
Since LL Cool J released his 13th studio album “Authentic” in 2013, only a couple of new singles were released the following year before the hip hop pioneer focused on other aspects of his successful career.
A documentary producer asked Cool J if he was worried about getting back into the studio, and the answer was “yes”.
Yeah. Because it’s like, can you make something that’s relevant? Can you make an album that lasts longer than three days in this environment? I don’t know. But I’m definitely gonna do everything I can to make sure I deliver.
Eminem seemed to be well informed about what is going on and even more about the mindset of a perfectionist who also does not need to put out albums if he is not inclined so:
If he feels like it’s not good enough, it ain’t coming out. But if he feels that’s it good enough and it is coming out, that’s when you know, okay, now we need to pay attention to this.
