Infinite, one of the rarest and most valuable hip hop albums in history, is available for purchase again, but only for a few who can afford it.
First try
Eminem recorded “Infinite” to get the attention of labels and radio stations, wagering everything on success. Marshall pressed vinyl, recorded some cassettes, and sold records wherever he could. Famously, Paul Rosenberg bought it from Em on the Hip Hop Shop floor on cassette for $6 and left unimpressed. As many other customers apparently did. Hence, Infinite did not become a springboard for Em’s success.
For some artists, it could have been the end of the road. Meanwhile, Eminem kept pushing until he became the best selling rapper in the world. And now, Infinite is a sought after item, an ultimate prize for a collector or a fan. With only 250 vinyl discs pressed and no certainty about how many might appear on the market, its price is understandably high.
Collector’s dream
Last time the album was up for auction, the winning bid surpassed $62,000. Young Marshal would never have imagined his first LP going out for this much cash.
This spring, the same auction puts another Infinite press out for sale. The AMG graded the item’s condition at 7. The record is sealed and encapsulated. More importantly, it bears Eminem’s signature. A familiar S curve in silver metallic sits on a plastic wrap, so the record’s sleeve remains pristine.
The item includes documents proving its provenance and the authenticity of Em’s signature. For the previous one, donated by Paul Rosenberg, we had a video of Eminem signing the album. This time, we have Ken Goldin, the force behind Goldin Auctions, demonstrating the record on his social media.

So far, there are four bids for Infinite, bringing the price to $3,250. Knowing that there is a whole month of bidding left, we can be sure that the price will increase more than tenfold. At the same time, the Infinite copy without Em’s signature is also available through the auction. Obviously, it will not reach the same height as the signed item. However, two bidders have already put the price at $550. Let’s get back together on May 6 to see the final bidding.
