Announced two years ago by Kanye, the remix with a new verse from Eminem produced by Dr. Dre is released on DJ Khaled’s new project.

Kanye ignited fans’ expectations in 2020 with his tweet:

@Eminem THANK YOU FOR RAPPING ON THE DR DRE REMIX OF USE THIS GOSPEL I HAVW ALWAYS LOVED AND RESPECTED YOU AND IM HONORED TO HAVE YOU BLESS THIS SONG … ITS ALSO NORTH WEST’S FAVORITE KANYE WEST SONG OF ALL TIME

And then, crickets. Nobody knew where or when the track was planned for release. The leaked snippet tantalised the fans but also implied that the release might not be possible after that.

At the same time, DJ Khaled kept saying how much he would like to get an elusive verse from Eminem and how he dreamt about collaborating with Dr. Dre and Eminem.

So, when DJ Khaled announced the “God Did” tracklist with this remix on it, it was unexpected but also weirdly made sense.

Now the track is out. Ye’s verse and chorus are the same as on the original song from “JESUS IS KING”. The added verse shows probably some of the most spiritual bars from Marshall. He carries the main topic of a personal relationship with the creator, tying it up with his personal struggle with addiction.

Dr. Dre and his team, named ICU with an apparent reference to the time a brain aneurysm sent Dre to the intensive care unit in January 2021, gave the verse the surgical precision of their production.

Now, when the remix is here, can you tell that it lives up to your expectations?
