Terence Crawford stepped out of the boxing ring and straight into the Hollywood spotlight, honouring Dr. Dre as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Crawford, the former two-weight undisputed champion, wasn’t just there to watch. Snapping epic photos with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent, he confirmed his status as a true fan and rubbed shoulders with hip hop royalty.
The love goes both ways. Dr. Dre has been a vocal supporter of Crawford’s for years. Back in 2019, ahead of a title defence, Dre surprised Crawford with a FaceTime call captured by Top Rank cameras. “Hey man, I just wanted to say I’m a super fan, and I’ve been following your career for a long time”, Dre boomed. “I respect you, man, and I love what you’re doing. Everything about you is fire”.
Fast forward to last summer, and it was Eminem name-dropping him as a favourite fighter. Crawford, ecstatic, invited Em to walk him out for his fight against Errol Spence Jr. Crawford emerged victorious that night with a rap legend by his side.
Now, the roles are reversed. Crawford, the champion, gets to hang out with his hip hop heroes, celebrating Dre’s monumental achievement. This is a win not just for Dre, but for the entire hip hop and boxing community, proving that greatness recognises greatness, regardless of the field.
