A producer behind the latest Juice WRLD x Eminem single says that Marshall inspired him to dedicate his life to music.

benny blanco is a songwriter, producer, musician, DJ and record label owner who received five BMI Songwriter of the Year Awards, as well as the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He’s sold over 100 million albums worldwide and has worked with some of the biggest artists in the world, providing them with smashing hits. You can find benny’s name on the credits to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself”, Julia Michaels’s “Issues”, Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “Señorita”, Kanye West’s “Ghost Town”, Rihanna’s “Diamonds”, and many more.

He also has a long working history with Juice WRLD, from producing “Black & White” for the debut album, “Goodbye & Good Riddance”. The first ever track they recorded together, “Real Shit”, was released only several years later, posthumously, after four other songs had dropped. And now, this. “Lace It”, for which Eminem laid the verse after Juice’s death.

Reflecting on the new installment in his discography with Juice, benny posted a message on his social media, sharing his grief and reflecting on the impact Eminem left on Juice’s life and his own aspirations:

people always say things like “this song means a lot to me” or “it changed my life”… when discussing a piece of music they’re listening to… “lace it” truly gives that a new meaning to me bc the day we recorded was also the last time i ever saw juice… everyday that moment gets further away… and id trade this or any other song we did to have him back… i didn’t think i would b crying while writing this but here we are… jared u r talent that will never be matched … ur laugh and spirit r infectious im gonna play this song so loud u can hear this in heaven tonight … we miss u 💜 tpne

marshall i dont even know where to start… i remember exactly where i was the first time i saw the video for “my name is” it stopped me in tracks… i knew in that very moment that i had to make music and that i was gonna dedicate my entire life to it… u paved the way for people to b different and not feel weird about being an outcast… both me and juice wouldnt b who we are without u… thank u
