Another Eminem Stalker Arrested

A 46-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated stalking after violating a court order barring her from contacting Eminem.

According to Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido’s statement, Nicole Gwen Savage allegedly went to Marshall’s house on Tuesday, October 27, where security stopped her and contacted law enforcement, who took her into custody.

The Detroit News found court records showing that in September, the same woman was charged with trespassing, a misdemeanour, and stalking in Clinton Township, where Marshall lives. The court order banning her from contacting Eminem must have been connected to that case. However, the circumstances that led to the no-contact order have not been disclosed. Savage’s next hearing for these charges is scheduled for November 18.

She is currently being held in jail on a $250,000 bond, awaiting a probable cause conference on the latest charge. It is set for November 9. Aggravated stalking is felony, carrying a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Three parties involved in the case reacted publicly in different ways.

“Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home and go about their daily lives without fear of being harassed or stalked. No one is exempt from these protections, regardless of their public profile or celebrity status”, said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido in a statement.

Meanwhile, Savage’s attorney, Thomas Quartz, argued that there was more to the story: “Everyone in Detroit is a fan of Eminem, myself included. However, there is always two sides to every story, and my client’s voice has yet to be heard. When it is, I truly believe the public will become a fan of hers or at the very least sympathise with her”.

Eminem’s spokesman, Dennis Dennehy, chose not to comment on the case.

In recent years, Eminem has been targeted by stalkers several times. Even living in a secure gated community has not guaranteed Marshall complete protection. In the most notorious recent case, Eminem woke up at home to the sound of a stalker breaking in and escorted him to the door, where he handed him over to security. Later, the stalker, Matthew Hughes, was convicted of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking and sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison.
