Fifty’s breakthrough album clocked in over 2 billion plays on the streaming platform.

“Get Rich or Die Tryin’” was released on February 6, 2003, by Shady Records. Executively produced by Dr. Dre, Eminem and 50 Cent himself, the record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, having sold over 872,000 copies in its first week.

The album was certified 9x platinum last year, and it keeps influencing young rappers and audience alike.

Meanwhile, Fifty’s second major-label album, “The Massacre”, has just gained 1 billion Spotify streams. “The Massacre” was released in 2005 to even bigger commercial success than GroDT. Having sold 1.15 million copies in its first week, the album debuted atop the Billboard 200. The album was met with mixed reviews from critics and still nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and lost to Kanye’s “Late Registration”.

Even if its popularity is clearly just half as high as “Get Rich or Die Tryin’”, the 1 billion streams milestone is important and unattainable for many. Congratulations!
