White Gold is a young recording artist from New York who already has two features with Eminem and hopes for more.
In his recent Q&A session with followers on Instagram, White Gold shared some interesting facts about working with Eminem and approaching the creative process in general.
But first of all, he was asked to choose between his two songs with Marshall and his answer was as definitive as divine intervention. White Gold chooses “Zeus” from Music to Be Murdered By: Side B”.
He elaborates on that in another answer also giving an opinion on MTBMB deluxe:
Zeus is flames… Knew it when the words left my lips tbh, no gas. The deluxe is pretty good. I think side A is a bit more focused sound wise but there are so many fun moments on Side B.
White Gold admitted that he wrote his part on “Zeus” in five minutes, but that does not happen often. “You Gon’ Learn” took longer.
He also advises aspiring songwriters to read more, the same advice that we know Eminem followed. White Gold says:
READ BOOKS GUYS… It’ll make you a better writer I promise. I am able to write fast and often because I read more than I write
The artist explained why he didn’t appear on “These Demons” that he co-wrote:
Eminem had a vision for it before he asked me to write the chorus. As for Zeus, I sent that record in with the hook for him. Different process.
However, he seems to slightly regret that his creative vision did not come to life on “These Demons” the way he saw it, but his version is not going to be released:
I wish but I’m bound by contract not to. My version is WAVY… The energy of the hook is way different on my reference.
It’s a banger… Even my daughter used to get hyped to it when I made it lol
White Gold has a broad taste in music ranging from Avril Lavigne to Slipknot and he has a special soft spot for Kanye West. However, when asked to assemble his Top 5 rappers he manages to separate his emotions from facts and his skill-based top 5 includes Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Eminem and Royce da 5’9” (with the addition of Jay Electronica in parenthesis).
Blanco’s favourite songs from Marshall’s catalogue are “Role Model” and “Sing For a Moment” and he hopes that he will continue working with Em.
White Gold also obliterated Lil Pump who tried to move against Eminem recently:
My nephew is 7 and doesn’t listen to Pump anymore… enough said.
There is also a funny setup for somebody, who thinks that to get through to Eminem you need to know magic words and not work hard and grow throw ranks in hip hop game:
