UK listeners still cannot get enough of Eminem, with four of his albums making the latest Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums Chart.
Eminem’s staying power in the UK is looking stronger than ever. Four of his albums are currently riding high on the Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums Chart, with “Curtain Call – The Hits” leading the charge at No. 16, five points up from the previous position, after an impressive 902 weeks on the list.
It is joined by “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)” at No. 25, “The Marshall Mathers LP” at No. 31, and “The Eminem Show” at No. 33 — all chart-toppers in their own time, and still spinning hard years later.
Only two other artists match his presence on the chart this week: Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West, each with five and four albums charting, respectively. Kendrick’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city” and “To Pimp a Butterfly” remain fan favourites, while Kanye’s “Graduation” and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” continue to earn most replay value out of all his catalogue.
Tyler, the Creator, also holds his own with three entries, proving that UK fans are showing love across generations and styles.
But there’s something about Eminem’s catalogue — raw, reflective, and relentlessly replayable — that keeps his albums in the listeners’ libraries and, subsequently, on the charts.
