Eminem’s latest album has been certified Gold in Denmark, making it the eighth country to award the album with official recognition.

In Denmark, a Gold IFPI plaque requires to move 10,000 units. While that might seem modest compared to bigger markets, it is a strong figure in a country of just over 6 million people. Before 1994, the bar for Gold was 50,000 units. Still, the shift from physical sales to digital and streaming dramatically changed the system. Today, streaming counts toward certifications, with 1,000 streams equal to one unit.

The achievement joins a growing list of international honours for “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”:

Canada – Platinum (80,000)
Belgium – Gold (10,000)
Brazil – Gold (20,000)
Denmark – Gold (10,000)
New Zealand – Gold (7,500)
Poland – Gold (10,000)
United Kingdom – Gold (100,000)

There is one country that everybody would like to see on this list, although with little hope. The US certification, which would only be updated upon a specific request from the artist or the label, is so low on Eminem’s list of priorities that fans have to wait years until his team initiates another mass update. The previous one, in March 2022, brought 73.5 million new certified units to his count. And now, 4.5 years and one album later, the fans are still waiting.
