The surprise collab gave each artist a milestone — from Mozzy’s first Hot 100 entry to Eminem’s 93rd.

On this day in 2021, Skylar Grey released “Last One Standing”, featuring Eminem, Polo G, and Mozzy – the official theme song for Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

The track marked a major win for Skylar, who scored her biggest hit as a lead artist. It debuted at No.78 on the Billboard Hot 100, topped Spotify’s Debut chart, and peaked at No.3 on iTunes. Eminem earned his 93rd Hot 100 entry, Polo G notched his 37th, and Mozzy celebrated his very first appearance on the chart.

The collab didn’t come out of nowhere. Weeks before its release, fans picked up on hints from Venom star Tom Hardy and Aftermath producer FredWreck, sparking online detective work. Days before the drop, rumours spread of an Eminem-Skylar-Mozzy track, though few expected Skylar to lead it.

Eminem backed her fully, even placing his “Venom (Remix)” as the single’s B-side to help push sales. The strategy worked. In 2023, “Last One Standing” was certified Gold by the RIAA, and today it has over 210 million Spotify streams, standing as Eminem’s 54th and Skylar’s 5th most-played track on the platform. And the most streamed, where she is a lead artist.
