Could Eminem really be headed to Hawkins as the next big villain in Stranger Things? That’s what a viral rumour wants fans to believe, but there is no truth to it, at least for now.
The speculation began with a post from a Facebook page called “Rap Music Star”, claiming that the rapper would play a “psychologically dark antagonist” in Season 5 of the hit Netflix series. It even claimed a Netflix source confirmed the role while also mentioning that it is no more than a rumour at this stage. However, there have been zero words from Netflix or the Duffer Brothers, and Eminem is not listed in the official cast.
Instead, Eminem’s actual Netflix cameo is happening elsewhere. He is confirmed to appear in Happy Gilmore 2, which premieres July 26. Adam Sandler teased Em’s scene in an interview late last year, calling the shoot “insane”. The first trailer dropped on May 31, showing a glimpse of Em yelling at Sandler’s character in classic Slim Shady fashion.
As for Stranger Things Season 5, the cast includes familiar faces like Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, and Jamie Campbell Bower, along with new additions like Linda Hamilton and Jake Connelly. The final season will roll out in three parts November on 26, December 25, and December 31.
So unless Netflix drops a surprise bombshell down the line, you will not see Eminem battling Vecna anytime soon.
