Nearly six years after her “Angel With Tattoos” EP, Skylar Grey plans to finish the project while also teasing collabs and the first single from her next full-length record.
First, the singer-songwriter revealed that she is finally ready to finish her “Angel With Tattoos” project, which began with the release of the single and EP of the same name back in autumn 2019.
That EP leaned heavily into a nostalgic ‘70s vibe, drawing inspiration from Sheryl Crow and KT Tunstall while reflecting her Wisconsin roots. In 2019, Skylar described to Inkedthe project as romantic at its core, saying: “It’s to help the world believe in love and fairytale romance again. In this day and age, it’s almost expected to have a fucked up relationship, but I don’t want people to forget that true love and happiness really do exist”.
While Angel With Tattoos was accepted warmly by fans, Skylar hinted she had more to say with it, and now, nearly six years later, she’s ready to deliver. According to her update, the schedule is stacked:
Three collaborations coming soon.
Two or three singles tied to the “Angel With Tattoos” project.
A full “Angel With Tattoos” album release.
And the first single from her next album, which she says she is “really fucking excited about”.
“My brain hurts thinking about all the songs that I have coming out in the next couple of months”, Skylar admitted. “It always seems like there is nothing happening and then suddenly it’s everything happening all at once. Back to back to back… it’s like an onslaught, but it’s just the way it’s going”.
It is rare to get this much new Skylar Grey music at once, making the next few months a whirlwind for both her and her fans.
