Eminem has best producers sending him beats and sometimes it makes his decision making just too difficult.
This is exactly what happened with “Killer” from “Music to Be Murdered By: Side B”. “Killer” is another Em’s collaboration with producer d.a. got that dope, who has already had three tracks with Em on Side A. Marshall values D.A. very high as a producer and has direct access to his new stuff. It also explains why Eminem’s music is so rich. He does not limit himself to one beat; he layers them to achieve the best result.
This is what Marshall explained during his New Year’s Eve special on Shade45:
[d.a. got that dope] is always sending me beats. I don’t know how much better he could possibly get, but he just keeps getting better. He’s at the top of my list as far as producers right now, absolutely at the top of my list. He’s always sending me shit. A lot of times when I’m listening to a beat it takes me a second to figure out which one I like the best to lock in on. So sometimes I’ll write a verse to one and then write a verse to another beat. And then start putting them together, knowing that I’m going to do that from the beginning. I think these three beats would sound crazy. That’s one of the reasons that the beats keep switching up because I couldn’t really figure out which one to lock on to. So I locked on to all three and then just put them together.
