Eminem has powered stadiums, soundtracks, and locker rooms for decades. He is also setting the tempo inside Liverpool FC’s training ground.

At the club’s AXA Training Centre, Eminem’s music has become part of the daily routine. That detail emerged during a light-hearted interview with Mohamed Salah and Conor Bradley, as they shared their personal “firsts” at the facility.

Who Controls The Playlist?

According to Salah, the rules are simple and non-negotiable. “I go first in the gym, I put Eminem”, he explained. His logic is clear and slightly ruthless. “Whoever comes earlier than me, puts his music”.

However, that almost never happens. Bradley quickly adds the punchline: “No one’s ever earlier than him”. As a result, Eminem becomes the default soundtrack for Liverpool’s gym sessions.

Old Eminem, New Eminem, No Debate

Naturally, the interviewer wanted details. “Old Eminem or new Eminem?” she asked.

Salah does not discriminate. “Everything”, he said. Instead of curating a careful playlist, he lets the algorithm decide. “I just put ‘Eminem’, and it starts the music”.

Even so, patterns still emerge. Salah admits the system leans toward earlier material. In particular, one song always stands out for him. “The one he sings for his daughter”, Salah says. “It’s incredible. It is one of my favourites”.

Motivation Without Translation

Salah has spoken about Eminem many times before. In interviews, on social media. He chose Eminem to play while he was being filmed for the Liverpool FC re-signing promo. For him, the music works without explanation or translation.

More importantly, it sets a tone. The sharp rhythms and focused delivery cut through pre-training noise. As a result, the gym shifts quickly into work mode.

Meanwhile, teammates adapt. Even those who might prefer something else still train to Eminem’s voice. Over time, that repetition becomes routine rather than novelty.

A Small Detail That Says A Lot

On the surface, it is just a playlist choice. Yet it also reveals something about Salah’s habits. He arrives early, controls the environment, and locks into focus.

Eminem’s music fits that mindset perfectly. It rewards discipline, repetition, and emotional intensity. Those qualities translate easily from headphones to the pitch.

So, while tactics are drawn on whiteboards elsewhere, the mood is set here. At Liverpool’s training ground, Eminem plays first. Everyone else falls in line.
