Following the release of a new album and on the back of the strongest back catalogue in the history of the genre, Eminem’s music keeps flying off the shelves — both digitally and physically. With 3.5 million album units sold, he ranks No.5 among the best-selling rappers in the US for 2024, holding strong alongside younger hip hop players like Drake, Future, and Kendrick Lamar.
Despite competition from newer stars like Travis Scott, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Tyler, The Creator, Eminem’s decades-spanning catalogue continues to thrive. Albums like “The Eminem Show”, “The Marshall Mathers LP”, and, of course, the illustrious compilation “Curtain Call” remain fan favourites. “Curtain Call” is currently spending its 723 week on the Billboard 200 chart, which amounts to almost 14 years of not leaving the spotlight.
These new selling numbers show that Eminem remains one of the genre’s best-selling artists, keeping pace with the biggest names in modern rap — the only one who started his career in a pre-streaming era, the artist many on this list admired.
