Fifteen years after its release, Eminem’s “Not Afraid” continues to earn new honours — this time in the UK.
The song has just been certified 3× Platinum in the UK by the BPI, marking over 1.8 million combined sales across the country. Originally released on April 27, 2010, the track was the lead single from “Recovery”, Eminem’s seventh studio album.
The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and quickly became one of his most commercially successful singles. At the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, Not Afraid took home the trophy for Best Rap Solo Performance — one of many accolades earned during the Recovery era.
Globally, the song continues to rack up certifications. It is 11× Platinum in both the United States and Australia, 2× Diamond in Brazil, and now 3× Platinum in the UK. Over a decade later, its impact clearly has not faded.
