British darts player Nathan Aspinall has revealed he has added Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” to his walk-out mix.

The world number 20 shared the story on the Love the Darts podcast, saying he has been testing the new track during the European Tour.

“I was practising in the dance room, and Lose Yourself came on”, he said. “The beat hit me, and I thought that could be good. We got it edited, and it sounds amazing”.

Why He Chose Eminem

Nathan explained that Eminem has always been one of his biggest inspirations. “Eminem is my idol, and I absolutely love his music”, he said. “It gets me in the zone before a game”.

The mix has not appeared on Sky Sports yet, but Aspinall hopes to use it during the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton later this month. He is confident that the energy of “Lose Yourself” gives him an edge on stage.

Still, he refuses to drop Mr. Brightside completely. “I can’t change it”, he joked. “If I stop walking out to Mr. Brightside, I won’t get invited to anything! No one’s ringing me for exhibitions without it”.

Nathan will make his return to Wolverhampton this year after missing the 2024 Grand Slam. Alredy, he earned his spot by winning the European Darts Trophy back in March.

However, he faces tough competition, with a group stage that includes Michael Smith, Luke Humphries, and Alex Spellman.

Even with a difficult draw, Aspinall remains confident. With Eminem’s words ringing in his ears, “You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow”, he’s ready to face anyone.

Eminem’s Impact Reaches Every Arena

Obviously, it is not the first time Eminem’s music has inspired athletes. Many use “Lose Yourself” to get motivated before a big game or competition. The song’s message of focus and determination fits perfectly with sports psychology. Just remember that legendary story about Eminem walking Terence Crawford out to the ring.

Similarly, for Aspinall, this track is not background music, but a mental trigger, a way to step onto the stage with total confidence.

Once, Eminem rapped about seizing the moment. Now, that moment plays out every time Nathan Aspinall takes his walk to the board.
