The two legends’ collab has officially crossed the 500,000 sales mark in the US, making it eligible for RIAA Gold certification.
Whether we’ll actually see a Gold plaque anytime soon, though, is another question. LL Cool J’s team may submit for certification directly, but as fans know, Eminem’s camp tends to take a different approach: batch updates every few years. The last round came in March 2022, a full two years after “Music To Be Murdered By” dropped.
If that same slow-and-steady strategy holds, we might be waiting until 2026 to see any certifications for “The Death of Slim Shady” or any of Em’s recent features. In the meantime, the track’s impact speaks for itself, with the numbers to prove that people listen.
