The 2020s decade has just started, but the competition for the best selling album is open, and Eminem is still high up.

Marshall dropped MTBMB as a surprise in mid-January 2020 without any promo and only two videos to support the release. However, the public was inspired enough to buy the album.

“To buy” is a keyword here, as the most impressive numbers Eminem makes where actual money is involved. When streaming numbers are factored in, young streaming sensations have all the advantages.

When we look at pure sales, we see that Marshall has sold more copies of his new album than any rapper. Chartdata published the list dominated by pop stars, with only two rappers tucked at the end of the chart – Eminem and Juice WRLD.

Best selling pure albums in the 2020s decade so far (US):

1. Taylor Swift “folklore”
2. BTS “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7”
3. Taylor Swift “evermore”
4. Harry Styles “Fine Line”
5. The Weeknd “After Hours”
6. Billie Eilish “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?”
7. BTS “BE”
8. Lady Gaga “Chromatica”
9. Eminem “Music to Be Murdered By”
10. Juice WRLD “Legends Never Die”
