As the album celebrates a quarter-century, “The Marshall Mathers LP” passed a massive new milestone: 5.3 billion Spotify streams.

That number is not just for show, the album is still pulling in over 2.5 million daily plays, making it Eminem’s second most streamed album on the platform. Considering that it reached 5 billion just back in January, fans might see that the MMLP cruise is past the 6 billion mark before the year wraps.

Originally released on May 23, 2000, the album was a lightning bolt: raw, outrageous, and completely unforgettable. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, stayed there for eight weeks, and sold 1.78 million copies in its first week alone — one of the fastest-selling albums in US history.

With unforgettable tracks like “The Real Slim Shady”, “Stan”, and “The Way I Am”, and features from Dido, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, and more, the record set a new bar for what a rap album could be.

A quarter of a century later, “The Marshall Mathers LP” is a cultural touchstone still connecting with millions of listeners around the world.
