Retired football star Mats Hummels crowned Eminem his personal GOAT in a rapid-fire hip hop bracket.

Fresh off his retirement after the last season with Roma, Mats Hummels traded cleats for courtside views at the Beats n Buckets festival in Munich, Germany’s first major event blending basketball and hip hop. While he was not lacing up to play, the former World Cup winner still found himself in the middle of some friendly competition, thanks to German KISS FM.

Hummels was asked to rank hip hop artists in a knockout-style face-off, and his bracket got intense fast. He gave DMX an early winning streak over 50 Cent, Method Man, and Ludacris, until Kendrick Lamar knocked X out. Then came a rapid-fire run: Kendrick over Nas and Busta Rhymes, but Jay-Z came out on top. Jay got the edge over Drake and even Tupac, but was finally stopped by J. Cole.

It all led to one final matchup: J. Cole vs. Eminem. Hummels did not hesitate on this one — Eminem took the crown. Honestly, an expected choice from a man who knows a thing or two about elite performance.
