The first-ever Eminem’s song to peak at No.1 of the Billboard 100 did so on November 9 in 2002. It remained on top of the chart for 12 consecutive weeks.
It was his first song to reach the top of the Billboard 100. “Lose Yourself” topped the national charts in 24 countries around the world.
Since then it has been awarded a Diamond certification, won the Grammy and MTV VMAs, and remains one of the most recognisable and motivational anthems.
It will also remain in the history of music as the first-ever rap song to win the Oscar for Best Original Song. And the first hip hop song of the pre-streaming era to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.
