Lil Wayne Interviews Eminem!

The Cash Money rapper says that he recognises his own relationship with words in Eminem. Yet he still was scared to contact Marshall for a feature.

This came up in a recent The New York Times feature dedicated to the 50th anniversary of hip hop. Journalists compiled 50 stories from 50 different rappers to put together a vivid reflection of the hip hop culture through years and generations. Eminem and 50 Cent are represented there with their own stories but that is not all. Eminem has left his mark on lives of other rappers and they talk about it. One of the biggest stars on the list who mentioned Marshall was Lil Wayne. He remembers how emotional he felt when he had to reach Eminem to discuss their collaboration:

I was scared, actually, when I called Eminem for a song. That is a monster. He must have the same thing I have with words. Like, we can’t get them out of our heads. Every meaning, every aspect of them. Things that rhyme, we hear it. I already know the gift and the curse that he has. And I love to hear the way he puts it together.
