The latest Eminem interview with KXNG Crooked at his podcast “Crook’s Corner” was full of gems. The whole tone of the interview as a respectful conversation between friends and colleagues was so different from your typical media attitude.
Both rappers know the game, the culture, each other’s bars and the struggle with the environment that refuses to see the value of their art. Crook let Marshal talk about his admiration to the golden era of hip-hop, about his producing style, about race and gun control, about the importance of having fun with music. He did not try to provoke Em and stir him toward salacious topics. But Crook also knew that fans see Marshall as a person and would like a little bit more about his life as a human being, outside of his Rap God hours.
So he asked some casual question on which Em answered even if he was not eager to elaborate.
What have we learned?
Marshall’s favourite food? He does not have any. He jokes that beats are his favourite food.
Favourite TVshows? Power, Wire, Breaking Bad. He also got Crook hooked on Walking Dead.
Does he have pets? No.
He is amazing at basketball.
And the most important question, is he happy?
I’m never happy.
Are you happy when you’re angry? You said something like that before.
I’m happy when I’m angry, yeah, for sure. That’s why I bitch so much. I’m trying to stay happy.
